eHel (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the eHel mobile application and web platform.

Personal Information: Name, phone number, date of birth, and health-related information you provide during registration and use of the app.
Health Data: Medical records, prescriptions, appointment history, and other health information you choose to store in the Health Vault.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for technical support purposes.
Usage Data: How you interact with the app to improve our services.

2. Camera Permission

The eHel app requests access to your device’s camera solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes to enable secure web login (similar to WhatsApp Web). We do not capture, store, or transmit any photos or video from your camera. Camera access is only activated when you explicitly initiate a QR code scan.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve our healthcare services
To connect you with doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies
To manage your appointments and health records
To send appointment reminders and health notifications
To process payments for services
To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only:

With healthcare providers you explicitly choose to share with
With payment processors to complete transactions
As required by Somali law or court order
With your explicit consent for any other purpose

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit and at rest. Health data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies ensuring each user can only access their own data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for optional data processing
Export your health records

8. Children’s Privacy

eHel is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Family member profiles managed by a parent or guardian are covered under the parent/guardian’s account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of eHel after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
